Conversations with you make things much better. Getting things off my chest - that’s why. It’s also why I call you the light I can look at, look to and still be protected by. You’re nothing like the lights that shine bright but are unable to have a conversation with. That’s because they burn you the moment you get closer. I’m glad I’m able to get things off my chest to you.

Beauty. That’s what you are.
Blessing! I thank you - I’m thankful for you!

There’s been a lot of light in my life, that brings me joy but none like you so I’ll make sure to keep you in mind for the rest of my life, to remember the conversations we had whenever I stared at you in my darkness.

“Why so sad?” you asked a while back.

I looked up to the sky lacquered with the colour blue. It was beautiful, and it had you, the silver shell in it. Your light showed the stars that were near you.

“Why so sad?” was repeated so we began a short conversation.

“Who knows really?” I said as I continued to stare at your beautiful shell. “I’m glad I have you in this darkness, but I can’t tell you why I’m sad. All I need you for is to be a light for me.”

“Scared they won’t see you as a light in their world?”

“Maybe. The moment they see my darkness, they’ll fall into it just like I fell into my father’s. And you know I can’t let that happen.” Tears began to fall down my cheeks. I was in my own mind unable to understand anything of this world. I made sure they smile whenever they were around me, and I still do, but I can’t show a glimpse of the darkness in me. That’s why I’m thankful for you shining your light on me so I don’t go completely dark.

I remember you saying that day that you might fall out of the blue sky yet you haven’t and I hope you won’t my silver shell.
