Rizz
He sat on his bed with tears in his eyes - like a man child - He continued to cry out.
“What’s up?” I asked.
“Jessica broke up with me,” he said, and laid down. His cries continued and a slow grin encircled my face.
I closed my eyes to erase the grin from my face and my mind went back to the day we met his beloved Jessica - 3 months ago, at the annual bonfire held at the beginning of the school year.
Two ladies walked towards us. I can still picture what they wore on that day. Jessica wore her blue jeans with a black top. It was dark and her blonde hair stood out. But - I can’t forget the blue jeans. Her friend, Katrina, wore a black pants and a top to match.
As we talked, I began to feel something for Jessica. After hours of talking, Eric asked if they wanted to get away from the bonfire, perhaps to eat. They said yes and so we drove off to the only restaurant opened in town. There, we sat, ate and talked about everything we could to know each other better. I got to know Jessica better. She loved golf, and music was a muse for her. Throughout the whole night, I couldn’t get my mind off of the thought of kissing her. When we were done eating, Eric drove them to their dorm room where we exchanged numbers to create a group chat. As we walked off, “I like the blonde one Jessica” Eric dared to say and I smiled, “great, I like her friend!”
I watched throughout the next week after he broke my heart with his words how they got to know each other intimately and how I was forced to smile with her friend. My heart sank deeper and deeper and deeper and…
“Are you listening?” I heard and opened my eyes.
“Yes, what exactly happened again, sorry?”
“She said she wanted to just focus on school.”
“Oh,” I said, “Why can’t she focus even while with you?”
“I don’t know but she’s studying with Mike everyday now.”
“So she cheated on you with him and gave you an excuse? How didn’t you know?” I, almost laughing, said these words.
“FUCK!” He screamed.
“Well, on my end, I found out that Katrina has a boyfriend if that helps?”
“You didn’t know?”
“I’m guessing you did,” I frowned. “I wasn’t even into her to begin with but I pursued her for your sake,” As I got up from the chair and movedcloser to his bed. “Look, it’ll be fine. Sleep it off and let’s talk again in the morning.”
I walked out of his room smiling - thinking the heavens had opened new doors for me. Her blue jeans came into my mind once again. She wouldn’t have cheated on me! No way!
The next morning, I walked to his room. I knocked and his roommate opened the door with the words: “He left at 8. His parents picked him up.”
I chuckled and walked away. I unlocked my phone and texted him “Why did you leave lol?”
Waiting a few minutes, I continued to laugh. My phone dinged and I opened it up to see his reply “I can’t be at the college anymore.” he said.
What a sore loser , I thought and worked to become close friends with Jessica with great hopes she’d get with me - but as I continued to pursue her, she fell for Mike’s heart - and so after my first year, I left the school. Guess I was just as heartbroken as my friend Eric. Not a sore loser, just heartbroken.

“and then he stalked her and ripped her heart into pieces because she broke his?” Andrew said.
What? No? I replied. It’s just a story about two men that changed the direction of their lives for a girl.
“But you could go deeper. Go for something crazy. Make them meet in the future or make him stalk her or something.” He replied.
What are you talking about? They left the school. End of story.
“But what if it isn’t?”
Well, John, it’s the end of the story for me. You write yours and end it however you want.
The class clapped as I returned to my seat.
“I loved the story. Maybe I could help you add to it sometime this week?” Alyssa to my left smiled.
“Yeah, I’d love that,” I smiled.
“Of course he’d revise it with a girl,” Andrew muttered.
“I could add to the story the demise of a man child named Andrew,” I said.
He turned back, looked at me and clapped, “now you’re getting somewhere!” He yelled.
I began to think about the life I have brought myself into. What am I doing in a classroom with this physcopath. I thought about Alyssa invitation and said to her: “I like my story the way it is, would you want to go to dinner instead?”
“I’d like that. And hopefully I won’t be like Jessica in your story.”
“Have I just rizzed you with my story?” I chuckled.
“Who in the world says that to a girl?” Andrew laughed.
“Maybe. Meet me at Tav at 7pm and we’ll find out.”
The writing crew, including Andrew hearing how the conversation ended, began to clap. Her cheeks turned red and I, in my heart, knew I had just rizzed her.

I think it’s my age but this one made me laugh.
