“You do know that dinosaurs are not real right?” The boy to the right said after Luke sat down. He raised his hand right after “Miss Emma,” he said. “Are Dinosaurs real?” he asked.
Miss Emma looked at Luke and the young boy. She felt the eyes of everyone's little child staring at her waiting for words, so she uttered, “When you get home, ask mom or dad and let me know okay class?” She saved herself from the tears of any kids so she smiled. Phew.
Luke for the entire day kept looking at his toy Dino. He had played with DinoPaul for as long as he could remember. Dad got him DinoPaul. Dad told him DinoPaul was real when they played together in his room for the first time. When he got home, he stared at dad, took DinoPaul from his backpack, set him down and then grabbed dad’s face, “You won’t lie to Luke right dad?” he asked.
Dad looked at mom then back at Luke, “Dad never lies to Luke. Right wife?”
Mom smiled at the moment between father and son and before she walked up the stairs, said “Dad never lies.”
“Are Dinosaurs real?”
Dad took hold of Luke’s head as well, looked into his eyes, “Oh yes Dinos are real Luky. How do you think I got DinoPaul?”
“from the Supermarket Mark said.”
Dad began to laugh, “Mark told you Dinos are not real?”
“Miss Emma then said to ask Mom and Dad after school since Mark said Dinos are not real.”
Dad grabbed Luke and ran up the stairs with him, “Let’s go meet DinoPaul’s Dad.”
When they got to the room, Mom was already in different clothes looking at the Mirror but the Mirror had no face in it. She walked towards it, looked back, waved at Dad and Luke and disappeared.
“Excited to see Dinos?”
“Meet Dinos?” Luke said, “But the real ones are not real dad Mark said.”
Dad grabbed his hands, “they’re my best friends Luke! It’s about time you meet them anyways.”
“I thought I was your best friend dad?”
“‘You are always my best friend.”
“But…” before Luke continued, Dad grabbed him and walked through the mirror with him.
“DAD!” he screamed, “Dinosaurs!” The dinosaurs walked right by him while Mom fed a blue one. Dad took DinoPaul from him and yelled, “DinoPaul is back.” He set DinoPaul on the ground and watched him grow into a real one. Dad, Mom, Luke and the Dino family played for the rest of the day.
